The GMAT and Preventing Cheating

In response to recent events surrounding alleged cheating in college entrance exams, GMAC has sent a note to its member schools with a review of GMAC policies, procedures, technology investments, and the security measures it applies to uncover and try to prevent attempted cheating on the GMAT exam.  The review has also been posted on GMAC.com.

What this means for students and test takers is simple: GMAC is committed to ensuring that the security of the GMAT exam is protected and that the fairness of the exam as a tool for admissions is assured, no matter where in the world or when the exam is taken.  We do this because we believe no individual test taker should lose an opportunity to earn a graduate management degree to someone else who took an unfair advantage or cheated on the exam.

Taking the GMAT: Why do you need to present appropriate identification?

In today’s world, a lot of organizations require that you present a valid form of identification as a pre-requisite to providing you a service. When you set up a bank account, request a loan, vote, travel, make a return at a store or enter government buildings, you have to present a current and valid form of your identification. Why? Because the organizations that provide these services have a public and private responsibility to confirm your identity.
